About the position

Civil Engineers will report directly to the Senior Manager and Director of Construction. This position will supervise other construction managers, first-line supervisors of construction trades and extraction workers, and other Civil Engineers. The position will also require much collaboration with different crews, engineers and superintendents. During peak construction season, this position will require 10-12 hrs. /day 5-6 days per week. Additionally, during the hot, summer months, night or early morning work may be necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities : RC will gladly provide a reasonable accommodation to assist Civil Engineers in performing these essential job functions so long as it does not create an undue burden 

• Assist Senior Manager and Director of Construction in reviewing contracts and proposals, managing subcontractors and monitoring their performance on all contracted tasks to ensure safe, quality, cost-effective, and timely completion of projects

• Review project progress by monitoring all facets of performance, including technical issues, costs, scheduling, and reporting 
• Analyze construction plans to determine design specifications and provide improvements under supervision of professional engineer.
• Compare completed work to blueprints and drawings using AutoCAD to ensure compliance with city, county and federal standards.
• Prepare and issue subcontracting documents, purchasing orders, and service agreements
• Provide specialized advice to industry personnel regarding design and repair plans and assign personnel as needed.
• Manage project construction schedules and work with team to forecast future schedules
• Assist site superintendent in quality control tasks and prepare daily progress reports specific to risk management to register for future risks
• Develop project safety meetings in coordination with safety manager
• Attend progress meetings along with site superintendent which will be held at construction site
• Provide required closeout information to clients at the end of project such as record drawings and O&M Warranties.

• Two years of experience in the job is required.
• This position requires working at one unanticipated site located in United States, until the project is completed and then moving to another site. Travel is not required while the project is going; Relocation is required.
• Graduate Courses in the following: construction safety management, pavement management. structures pavement analysis and performance; structural masonry design; highway safety engineering.

• Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes
• Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
• Ability to seldomly lift and/or push/pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb up to 12ft
• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift overhead, work at heights
• Walk and balance while working in rough terrain to access equipment, tools, materials, and job site to complete work
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time
• Use of hands to grasp and feel objects, tools, or controls
• Ability to frequently repeat the same movements with arms, hands, wrist, and fingers. (Use fine manipulation, frequent to constant traditional keyboarding)
• Ability to reach overhead, at or below the shoulder
• Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble small objects
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
• Hearing adequate to perform all tasks, understand the speech of another person, ability to focus on one source of sound and ignore others
• Speak clearly so listeners can understand

• Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks
• Employee is occasionally exposed to noise, dust, and various types of smells
• Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
• Employee must be able to properly use and handle toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Employee is occasionally exposed to wet, hot, and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, and outside weather conditions
• Employee is regularly working indoors, in an office setting
• Employee is regularly exposed to moderate noise levels
