Concrete QC and Engineering Technician

FT/PT Status:Regular Full Time
  

Job Responsibilities:
  • Observation and monitoring of all aspects of airfield pavements. Including placement and performance of the separation layer, drainage layer, and  airfield concrete pavement
  • Manage and supervise subcontracted testing agencies as it relates to sub-grades, separation layer, drainage layer and airfield concrete pavements
  • Conduct and perform all tests, measurements and record results as directed in the specifications
  • Initiate corrective procedures to correct any deficiencies determined by the execution of his duties
  • Documentation of all measurement parameters required in the specifications
  • Preparation and presentation of all collected data in written format according to specifications and in an agreed upon format by the client and R.C. Construction Co., Inc.
  • Provide training of analyst in training to perform the measurements and data collection required
  • Provide engineering support to the Project Manager as it relates to existing surveys, establishment of control, establishment of grade, as-built recording and machine control

Job Qualifications:
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to obtain Military base access
  • ACI Field Testing Technician Level I Certification
  • ACI Aggregate Testing Technician Level I Certification
  • ACI Flat Work Technician Level I Certification
  • Or ability to obtain above certifications and any other certification requested related to Concrete Paving Field

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work overhead
  • Ability to use hands to grasp
  • Ability to reach with arms
  • Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
  • Ability to repeatedly stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist throughout the workday and week
  • Ability to climb up and down a ladder and balance
  • Ability to work shift in all weather and temperature extremes
  • Adequate vision abilities to perform all tasks by using close, far and peripheral vision

Work Environment:
  • Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks
  • Employee is regularly exposed to noise, dust, and various types of smells
  • Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.
  • Employee must be able to properly use and handle toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Employee is regularly exposed to wet, hot, and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, and outside weather conditions
  • Employee is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area
