Start Over with Job Search Returning Applicant?  Login Now General Laborer Req Code: 2022-OPERATIO-081 FT/PT Status: Regular Full Time     Job Responsibilities: A laborer is responsible for most of the physical labor performed on the job This position is an entry level position that can be useful in learning more about heavy civil construction prior to attaining a more skilled position such as a concrete finisher or operator Laborers will get direction and must follow instructions given by Foreman, Superintendent, Project Engineer, Safety Director, Vice President and President Laborers will be expected to cooperate and work productively with all other trades Strictly adhere to and effectively follow all safety and environmental rules and guidelines Loading, unloading, sorting, and organizing materials at the job-site Perform other assigned duties Work quickly, productively and safely without error and consistently meet the production goals as set by the Foreman, Superintendent or Project Manager Consistently produce quality workmanship as judged by Company Standards Demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn all aspects of construction Must arrive to work by scheduled start time, and be willing to travel to all job sites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary) Must comply with all company safety and personnel policies Job Qualifications: At least 3 years experience on a construction site Experience working with concrete and utilities - civil prep work- pipe laying etc Be self-motivated and work productively Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance for military base access Possess a working knowledge of construction/equipment safety Reliable method of going to and from work Must abide by all policies within the employee manual Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to work overhead Ability to use hands to grasp Ability to reach with arms Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas Ability to repeatedly stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twist throughout the workday and workweek Ability to frequently lift and /or push/pull up to 30 pounds up to 50 feet Ability to frequently lift to 30 pounds up to 3 feet off the ground Ability to repeatedly operate a 12-pound sledgehammer throughout the entire workday and workweek Ability to climb up and down a 6-foot step ladder and balance Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes Vision adequate to perform all tasks *** RC will gladly provide a reasonable accommodation to assist laborers in performing these essential job functions so long as it does not create an undue burden.
