Job Responsibilities:
OVERVIEW: The Project Controls Manager will work with our Pre-Construction and Construction teams to establish and manage company and project level financial and schedule controls.
Job Title: Project Controls Manager
Location: Southaven, MS
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm or as necessary

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Build and maintain cost and revenue loaded project schedules.
Provide critical path analyses, identifying problem areas, and creating work-around solutions.
Support Project Managers by providing schedule narratives and other required scheduling reports.
Establish and maintain a project and company level cost projection process.
Consult with, assist, and advise Pre-Construction and Construction teams on matters involving costs or cost estimates on proposed or active projects.
Develop and improve upon monthly analysis of budget and schedule performance on active projects.
Establish and maintain a cost management system to support Earned Value Management reporting regular project status reports.
Build and maintain a schedule for the company’s labor and equipment resources.
Occasionally support Pre-Construction and Construction teams preparing construction budgets by studying plans and/or specifications for quantity of work needed by using mathematical formulas and historical cost knowledge to determine final cost of projects.
Develop and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial and scheduling deliverables.
Organize and maintain the schedule database to include baseline schedules.
 

Job Qualifications:
Possess a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business, Construction, Engineering or Architecture
Must possess a minimum of 5 years of construction management experience specifically focused in scheduling and cost controls.
Must be able to multi-task (prioritize work), thrive in a fast-paced team environment, have great attention to detail, and possess excellent organizational skills
Must be able to communicate effectively (both verbal and written) with subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals, Superintendent and Project Managers
Must be able to take direction and follow instructions
Proficient in using a pc and be willing to learn how to use new software applications
Must have advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6

  • Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
  • Ability to repeatedly stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twist throughout the workday and workweek
  • Ability to frequently lift and /or push/pull up to 30 pounds up to 50 feet
  • Ability to frequently lift to 30 pounds up to 3 feet off the ground
  • Ability to repeatedly operate a 12-pound sledgehammer throughout the entire workday and workweek
  • Ability to climb up and down a 6-foot step ladder and balance
  • Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes
  • Vision adequate to perform all tasks
