JOBSITE LOCATION:

Joint Base Andrews, Maryland
General Laborers will be offered $16.00-$20.00 per hour depending on experience.  
While working at Joint Base Andrews, General Laborers will be paid at $24.22 per hour, plus $8.69 in fringe benefits per the Davis Bacon Act.  This hourly rate only applies to work being conducted at Joint Base Andrews. While working on other jobsites, employees will be paid their normal wage unless otherwise stated per that jobsites wage classification


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Work in a high production environment
Strictly adhere to and effectively follow all safety and environmental rules and guidelines
Safely and effectively assist other positions with various tasks – operate various hand and power tools, measuring/cutting lumber, nailing, retrieving material, rigging loads, signaling operators, holding stakeout tape, rod, plumb bob, prism, setting wood/steel, load/unload/clean trucks, shovel sand, dirt, and stone, loading, unloading, sorting, and organizing materials, general site cleanup etc.
Be self-motivated and work productively
Perform other assigned duties
 

Job Qualifications:
  • At least 6 months experience on a construction site
  • Experience working with concrete a plus
  • Be self-motivated and work productively
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance for military base access
  • Possess a working knowledge of construction/equipment safety
  • Reliable method of going to and from work
  • Must abide by all policies within the employee manual
Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to work overhead
  • Ability to use hands to grasp
  • Ability to reach with arms
  • Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
  • Ability to repeatedly stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twist throughout the workday and workweek
  • Ability to frequently lift and /or push/pull up to 30 pounds up to 50 feet
  • Ability to frequently lift to 30 pounds up to 3 feet off the ground
  • Ability to repeatedly operate a 12-pound sledgehammer throughout the entire workday and workweek
  • Ability to climb up and down a 6-foot step ladder and balance
  • Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes
  • Vision adequate to perform all tasks

Work Environment:

  • Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks
  • Employee is regularly exposed to loud noise, dust, airborne particles, fumes, and various types of smells
  • Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and high precarious places
  • Employee is regularly exposed to a variety of inclement weather conditions such as: cold, wet, hot, and/or humid conditions
  • Employee is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area
