Prep Foreman

Job Responsibilities:

Purpose: The purpose of the Prep Foreman is to prepare concrete placements as not to delay production.

Essential Job Duties

  • Successfully manage a crew of 5-6 people.
  • Manage all phases of the process.
  • Interaction in a professional, courteous, and civil manner.
  • Determine work schedule and manpower requirements for your team for each task to be performed.
  • Maintain communication with the manager regarding progress, delays, etc.
  • Set examples of acceptable work practices including time management.
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all plans and specifications.
  • Monitor job specifications and ensure quality final product.
  • Assures job progresses according to plan.
  • Maintain communication with the Superintendent regarding progress, delays, material quantities, etc.
  • Effectively document the project in a systematic and efficient manner.
  • Collect daily equipment inspections and cost code appropriately to be submitted to the Superintendent daily.
  • Maintain/Update Production Reports as necessary
  • Create a safe work environment by:
  • Maintaining OSHA 10 hr/OSHA 30 hr and yearly CEU requirements
  • Maintaining current CPR/FA Certification
  • Reporting any unsafe behavior or near miss incidents to the SSHO for documentation and corrective action.
  • Following and enforcing all established RC Construction safety policies.

Job Qualifications:
 

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years experience managing crews.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in general construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines.
  • Able to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Basic computer skills.

 Experience Preferred:

  • Army Corps of Engineers or FAA experience.
  • Knowledge of storm drain processes, dirt work, base control, base course installation, including excavation, grade work, surveying, and final excavation work .
  • Airport paving experience.
  • Experience with Placing Ready Mix Concrete.
  • Experience with Placing Concrete with Roller Screed and Vibratory Screed.
  • Slab on Grade Place and Finisher Experience.
  • ACI Certifications.
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License

Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
